Allah has created mankind to worship him. Allah has commanded us to pray five times a day. When thinking about this fact we must realize that Allah does not need us, we need Allah. So then why where we commanded to pray? The answer is to keep us on the righteous path and to show appreciation to our creator for all the blessings he’s bestowed on us. When we follow the word of Allah we help ourselves to be successful– both in this dunia and al-akhira. Prayer: Our day needs to revolve around prayer. When the Athan sounds it should be instinctive to head towards your salah. The Athan is Allah’s call to prayer, we don’t keep our appointments at work waiting so how can we have the audacity to keep our creator waiting? It may not always be simple to get up and pray depending on your work environment but Allah makes things easier for you when you struggle for his sake.Interaction: When interacting with others you must always keep in mind that your words and actions do not represent just yourself, they represent over a billion Muslims worldwide. We as American Muslims are the only real source of interaction with non-Muslims since they cannot obtain an accurate depiction of Islam from the Television. When you understand that fact you’ll then realize how important it is to be kind to others, to help anyone in need, to love your brothers and sisters in Islam, to be honest and to be in simple terms– thoughtful. The way you interact with a non-Muslim can either change their negative image of Muslims or lead them to believe that Muslims are exactly as they’re depicted in the media. Remembrance & The Quran: It is a shield for evil when you constantly remember Allah and the Holy Quran. Allah has given us many verses which we can recite that will keep us from going astray. The Quran is a way of life, it teaches us how to be successful in the current life and the hereafter. If someone in this dunia gives us a book with all the details on how to become millionaires then the majority would guard it with their lives and practice its teachings to every last detail. Well the Quran is not only that, it also tells us how to secure a place in paradise. All the pleasures of this dunia don’t amount to a square inch of Jennah. The summary of this topic is to live a life that is good for your akhria.
